S. Herina, V. M. (5. Mai). Die hl. Jungfrau Herina, welche auch Hirena und Irene heißt, litt unter dem Kaiser Licinius zu Lecca (Aletium) in Kalabrien (Provinz Terra di Otranto), um das J. 316. Hier wird sie als große Wunderthäterin verehrt. Auf Bildern sieht man sie als königliche Jungfrau (sie war der Sage nach eine leibliche Tochter des Licinius), eine brennende Lampe tragend; die Hand ist mit einem Tuche umwunden. (II. 790–795.)
