1S. Priscilla (16. Jan.). Von dieser heil. Priscilla ist wenig Sicheres bekannt. Nur ihre unverdenkliche Verehrung ist unzweifelhaft. Sie wird von Einigen für die Mutter des heil. Senators Pudens (s.d.) und sonach auch für die Großmutter der hhl. Jungfrauen Praxedes und Prudentiana gehalten. Begründeter ist vielleicht die Annahme jener, welche diese hl. Priscilla als die Erbauerin des Cömeteriums an der Salarischen Straße halten, die unter dem Papste Marcellus gestorben sein soll. Es ist die beständige Ueberlieferung festgestellt, daß sie die verfolgten und gemarterten Christen mit aller Liebe, mit Aufopferung aller ihrer Einkünfte und mit persönlicher Hingebung tröstete und pflegte. Ihre Reliquien sind nicht aufgefunden, aber man glaubt, daß sie bei St. Pudentiana ruhen. In den obengenannten Katacomben findet sich eine Abbildung, auf welcher sie mit ausgebreiteten Händen betend dargestellt ist.
