S. Agathocles, M. Aus dem Gr. = von gutem Rufe. – Der hl. Agathocles wird vorzüglich in der griechischen Kirche verehrt. Er ward mit einem glühenden eisernen Stachel, der in bildlichen Darstellungen gewöhnlich sein Attribut bildet, durchbohrt und auf diese Weise getödtet.
