S. Ctesiphon, (1. Apr. al. 15. Mai), Bischof von Vergio (Vergium) in Spanien im ersten Jahrhundert, der mit einigen Andern von den hhl. Aposteln zu Rom geweiht und von ihnen nach Spanien geschickt worden war, wo er zu Vergio starb. Ob dieses Vergio ehemals Vergilia geheißen habe, oder ob es auch sonst Vergis genannt worden und das jetzige Veria sei, ist nicht ausgemacht. Ebenso ist nicht gewiß, ob der Heilige aus Arabien abstammte, wie Einige dafürhalten. Am 15. Mai, an welchem Tage er auch im Mart. Rom. vorkommt, wird er mit den übrigen sechs spanischen Aposteln zugleich verehrt, am 1. Apr. aber besonders. Am 15. Mai handeln die Bollandisten von der Ankunft dieser Bischöfe in Spanien (vgl. Tom. III. Maji, pag. 442). S. S. Torquatus.
