2S. Delphinus, (24. Dec.), Bischof von Bordeaux, der nach dem Mart. Rom. (24. Dec.) zur Zeit des Theodosius lebte. Nach Butler wohnte er im Jahre 380 dem Concil von Saragossa bei, welches wider die Priscillianisten abgehalten wurde, pflog die innigste Freundschaft mit dem hl. Bischof Phebad von Agen, taufte im Jahre 388 den hl. Paulinus, nachmaligen Bischof von Nola, und erweckte in ihm das Verlangen, den Weg der evangelischen Vollkommenheit zu betreten. Der hl. Ambrosius schrieb an ihn und den hl. Phebad einen Brief, in welchem er von den Früchten redet, welche sie vereint in der Kirche Gottes hervorbrachten. Er starb am 24. Dec. 403 und hatte den hl. Amandus zum Nachfolger. (El., But., Wb., Mg.)
