SS. Inventus et alii 359 MM. (22. Jan.). Der hl. Inventus, in spanisch-katalonischer Sprache gewöhnlich San Trobat27 genannt, mußte mit seinen 359 Genossen zu Gerona (Gerunda) in Spanien unter dem Präfecten Dacian oder seinem Stellvertreter Ruffinus in der letzten Diocletianischen Verfolgung um die Zeit, wo auch die hl. Felix157 und Romanus litten, für den christlichen Glauben sein Leben hingeben. Von diesen seinen 359 Genossen werden bei den Bollandisten die hh. Vincentius und Orontius genannt, sowie auch der hl. Diakon Victor und seine Mutter Aquilina1. Auch ist es möglich, daß der oben genannte hl. Romanus, von welchem der Bischof Berengarius von Gerona im J. 1087 dem Augsburgischen Abt Sighardus von St. Afra eine Hand übersendete, von dieser Zahl gewesen sei. Die Reliquien dieser heil. Martyrer wurden in der Kirche des hl. Felix in Gerona verehrt, und daß es mit dem hl. Inventus im Ganzen 360 Martyrer waren, wird geschlossen aus einem Verzeichnisse der Kirche des hl. Felix, in welchem es heißt, daß dort ruhen die Leiber der hhl. Narcissus und Felix57, sowie von 360 anderen Martyrern etc. Der hl. Inventus wurde als Patron gegen das viertägige Fieber angerufen, sowie man überhaupt glaubt, daß durch ihre Fürbitte Beschädigungen durch das Wasser ferne gehalten worden seien. (II. 414–415.)
